조이랜드 5학년 아이들과 두번째 저녁 미팅!

 

Today, the Joyland teachers and 5th graders had our second dinner meeting together!
Although teacher Intae couldn’t make it today because he is traveling (the kids really missed him), we all had a fun time together! Like last month, the kids were so excited, but the teachers were still glad they all had fun.
 

Thank you to Sophia’s mom (방혜근 집사님) for hosting us and providing a wonderful dinner! Thank you to the other 5th grade mother’s who helped out as well! We are so thankful for all your love and support!
 

The main topic of the night was, “What is the truth?” Although there are many choices and “truths” when it comes to living life and choosing what god(s) to follow, there is only one God who is real, or the “truth”; Jesus! Although it may be confusing to find the truth with many other “truths”, we can know that our God is the real truth because of the powerful message and significance of the Gospel. We played two fun games related to the theme of “truth” and ended with a discussion of the Gospel message.

 

The first game is called, “The Truth About You!” and it involved students learning as much “truths” as they can about each other; favorite food, color, hobby, what superpower they would want, etc. After learning as much as they could about each other, the teachers would take turns asking 3 random questions about each student. All of the students, except for the one being asked about, had to guess the answer by writing it on their own whiteboard. The kids seemed to love this game, and it was interesting for all of us to get to know each other better!

 

The second activity is called, “Finding the Truth!” For this activity, the lesson was that finding the truth is not always easy. Since there are many other ideas that people believe are “the truth,” it is hard to find out which is really the truth! For this activity, we filled one cup for each student with Coca Cola, except only one of the cups was truly Coca Cola. All of the other cups were mixed with salt, lemon, soy sauce, and other condiments. Although the cups all looked similar, there was still only one truth, and the students had to try their best to find it based on what they saw. Once all the students played rock, paper, scissors to determine the order of choosing, each student took their cup and took a gulp at the same time! (They didn’t really have to drink it and were told to spit it back into their cups if it was not the true Coca Cola).

After playing games, we all sat down to talk about the importance of finding the truth and what we believe to be the truth. We talked about the Gospel message and what kind of relationship God desires with us - a personal and loving relationship with Him! We shared about how God’s message of salvation, which is not based on good works but by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, is a key factor to what we believe is the truth.

오늘, Joyland 선생님들과 5 학년 학생들이 두 번째 저녁 미팅을 함께했습니다!

인태 선생님은 여행 중이기 때문에 오늘 올 수 없었지만 (아이들이 정말 보고싶었어요), 우리 모두 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다! 지난 달처럼 아이들이 많이 신났었고 선생님들도 즐거워 했습니다.

 

먼저, 우리를 초대하고 멋진 저녁 식사를 제공 한 방혜근 집사님에게 감사드립니다! 도와 주신 다른 5 학년 부모님에게도 감사드립니다! 우리는 모든 부모님들의 관심과 지원에 감사드리며 다음 달의 미팅을 더욱더 기대합니다!

오늘의 주제는 “진리는 무엇인가?” 였습니다. 따라야 할 신을 선택하는 것과 같이, 삶에 많은 선택과 "진리"가 있습니다. 우리는 실제로 존재하는 신은 오직 하나뿐인 분이라고 믿습니다: 예수! 많은 다른 "진리"와 함께 진리를 발견하는 것이 혼란 스러울지라도, 우리는 강력한 메시지와 복음의 중요성 때문에 우리의 하나님이 참된 진리임을 알 수 있습니다. 우리는 "진실"이라는 주제와 관련된 두 가지 재미있는 게임을했고 복음 메시지의 대화로 끝났습니다.

 

첫 번째 게임은 "당신에 관한 진실!"이었고 학생들이 서로에 대해 할 수있는만큼 많은 “진실”들을 배웠습니다: 좋아하는 음식, 색, 취미... 그들이 서로에 관한 많은 것을 배운 후에, 선생님들이 차례대로 각 학생에 대해 3 가지 질문을했습니다. 질문에 학생을 제외하고 모든 학생들이 자신의 화이트 보드에 답을 써야했습니다. 아이들이 게임을 좋아하는 것 같았고 우리 모두가 서로를 더 잘 알게되는 것이 재미있었습니다!

 

두 번째 게임은 "진실을 찾아라!"라고합니다. 이 게임에서 진실을 찾는 것이 항상 쉬운 것은 아니라는 교훈이있었습니다. 사람들이 "진실"이라고 생각하는 많은 아이디어가 있기 때문에 실제로 진리인지 알아내는 것은 어렵습니다! 이 게임을 위해, 우리는 코카콜라로 각 학생을위한 작은 컵 1 개를 채웠습니다. 여섯컵 중에 하나만이 진실한 코카콜라였습니다. 다른 컵에는 소금, 레몬, 간장 및 기타 조미료가 섞여있었습니다. 컵들은 다 비슷하게 보였지만 한 가지 진실 만 남아 있었고 학생들은 본 것을 기반으로 그 진실을 찾을 수밖에 없었습니다. 모든 학생들이 선택 순서를 결정하기 위해 가위, 바위, 보를 연주하고 나면 각 학생은 컵을 가져다가 동시에 마셨습니다! (진정한 코카콜라가 아니였으면 그냥 컵에 다시 뱉어달라고 학생들에게 이야기를 했습니다.)

 

게임을 한 후에 진실을 찾는 중요성과 학생들에게 "진실"이 무었인지로 이야기했습니다. 우리는 복음의 메시지와 하나님이 우리와 함께 바라는 어떤 관계를 원하는지 에 대해 이야기 했습니다: 그분과의 개인적이고 사랑스러운 관계! We shared about how God’s message of salvation, which is not based on good works but by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, is a key factor to what we believe is the truth.
